March 29th 2025 ( 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM )
Friends of the Reedy River is holding the first Invasive Plant Pull at Reedy River Meadow on Saturday, March 29th from 9:30 - 12:30pm! This event is in partnership with the Rotary Club of Greenville City Center.
Come join us to remove invasive plant species to make room for native plants! Our goal is to create a native plant meadow along the Reedy River. We will teach volunteers about the importance of meadows, native plants, riparian buffer zones, and proper identification and removal of invasive plant species - specifically hand-pulling invasive plant species and small saplings.
We will focus on removing invasive species by hand. We will help volunteers correctly identify desirable versus undesirable vegetation, making this a great opportunity for all experience levels!
Please come prepared to get dirty -- long pants & closed toe shoes are strongly recommended. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection or rain gear, gardening gloves if you have them, and any other supplies you will need to feel comfortable in a group outdoors, such as a chair or a kneeling pad. All other supplies and tools will be provided.
Thank you for your interest in supporting Friends of the Reedy River! We look forward to seeing you soon!
Registration for this event is full. If you registered and are no longer able to attend, please email us.
